THE ELEMENT
Synopsis
Drunken and sick, she finds herself in the arms of a man who is attentively looking after her. This is the beginning of an unstable and intense relationship. As she struggles to rid herself of her ever-growing desire and desperate fascination for him, her sexual obsession transforms into a frantic jealousy, leaving her in a fragile state. Her frailty is, however, revealed to be the result of a deteriorating health condition, an ‘element’ deficiency.
The story unfolds with an old documentary narrating a forgotten episode of the Cold War, from the discovery of the ‘element’ deficiency to the fabrication of a notorious conspiracy plan, spreading the deficiency.
Years after the Cold War, the plan appears to have been implemented around the world, affecting entire generations, to which she belongs. As the disease takes over her, she confronts it in her uncanny way.
